Welcome to the Therapy Room
Dear Client,
I believe in transparency and making informed decisions. Before you read this blog, I want you to understand the nature of information presented here and where it comes from, so you can make an informed decision about what you read here.
It is my ethical obligation as Registered Clinical Counsellor, to ensure that my clients, both existing and potential, have up-to-date, useful and real information that they can use to compliment their therapy process and improve their lives in general.
With that in mind, here are some facts about this blog:
1. What is it About? In this blog, I write about the therapy process as I go through my days as a therapist in New West. I continuously study, think and reflect on my favorite topics, including trauma therapy, couples counselling, child development, social and medical systems, and more. My articles are distilled versions of some of the discussions I often have with my clients. These articles give my existing clients a reference and direction for further thoughts; and for my potential clients – reading this blog may help you decide whether my approach is a fit for you.
2. Where is this information coming from? Every article is a result of my reflection on many hours of work with clients, reading and studying on the topics, and research on resources and up to date information. Every resource I post here, has been tried and evaluated by me personally. Everything I suggest, has been researched and practiced by me and tried by my clients. My aim is to keep this blog as real as possible, including the image in this article, which is my actual Therapy Room on Columbia Street in New West.
3. Do you use AI in your writing? After a brief phase of fascination with AI editing, I realized that it does more harm than good to me personally. I respect other people's decision to use AI responsibly to improve their work. I am a writer and I believe in preserving humanity in writing. Therefore, I have stopped using AI for editing and instead opted for reading books on writing and learning to write better the good old way. All writing here is authentically mine. I occasionally use AI to help me generate some images and that is the extent of my use of it in this blog.
4. Can I share articles from this blog? Yes. If you know someone who could use the information from the Therapy Room, feel free to share my website with them so they can check it out. The information is free for your own use and for sharing its location with your friends. All information here is copyright, which means it cannot be reproduced without my permission.
5. What about confidentiality? Client confidentiality is the foundation of counselling work. From strict personal rules to protected files and databases, I take constant care to protect the confidentiality of my clients. In this blog, while I reflect on issues that often come up in therapy, I do not provide any identifiable details. I never talk about specific cases, and I keep my discussions to topics rather than people.
I hope this information helps you make the best use of the Therapy Room for yourself and your loved ones! Feel free to reach out by booking your phone consult.
